The questions people bring

Nobody arrives asking about planets

They arrive with a sentence. Usually one they have already said out loud a hundred times at home. Here are the twelve we hear most, in the words people use — and the honest answer to where each one is read in a chart.

These are the questions he is asked

Acharya Sanjay Sharma

Fourth generation — his great-grandfather, grandfather and father were all pandits
18 years of practice
More than 10,000 charts read

He will not tell you any of that himself. Ask him how many people he has seen and he says “kaafi” — a fair few.

Read why we built this

“Proposals keep coming and nothing works out.”

Usually tried already: Three or four proposals, a matchmaker, and somebody has usually said there is a dosha.
What the chart is read for: The 7th house and its lord, Venus, Jupiter, and where Mars sits — and then the part most people skip: whether the running dasha is even touching marriage yet. More often than not the chart is not blocked. The timing simply has not opened.

“It has been years and we have not had a child.”

Usually tried already: Doctors, usually for a long time. Often she comes without telling anyone at home.
What the chart is read for: The 5th house, Jupiter, the Moon, and the Saptamsha chart — read for which periods are open, and nothing else. Please keep seeing your doctor throughout. No ritual, stone or mantra on this site is offered as a way to conceive, and anyone who offers you one is the person to walk away from.

Child report

“Money is stuck in the business.”

Usually tried already: Chasing payments, a loan, selling something that should not have been sold.
What the chart is read for: The 2nd, 11th and 6th houses, Jupiter and Mercury, and where Saturn is transiting — read as a calendar: which months are tight, and which month it loosens. The useful part is usually knowing what not to sign in the tight ones.

Finance report

“Nothing is going right at work.”

Usually tried already: Waiting it out. Applying quietly. Being told to be patient.
What the chart is read for: The 10th house, Saturn, and the lord of the period you are actually in. A change of period is very often eight to twenty months away — and almost everyone in this chair has assumed the bad run is permanent.

Career report

“Everything has stopped and I cannot see why.”

Usually tried already: Everything. That is usually why they are here.
What the chart is read for: This is the one we are gladdest to be asked, because it usually has an end date we can hand you. Saturn takes about seven and a half years to pass over the Moon — the period people call Sade Sati — and the chart says when yours began and when it finishes. It is not a punishment and it is not permanent.

“Somebody told me something frightening about my chart.”

Usually tried already: Being told there is a dosha, a bad yoga, or a stone that must be bought today.
What the chart is read for: Whether it is in there at all. Kaal Sarp and Mangal Dosha are the two most often announced to people, and both have actual definitions that either hold or do not. We will show you the chart and the rule, and say plainly if it is not present. Very often it is not.

“My child will not concentrate on studies.”

Usually tried already: Tuitions, phone taken away, comparisons with a cousin.
What the chart is read for: The 4th and 5th houses, Mercury, and the Chaturthamsa chart — read for how this child learns rather than whether they are clever, and which years ask the most of them.

Education report

“There is no peace left at home.”

Usually tried already: Staying quiet. Involving family. Moving a room around.
What the chart is read for: The 4th house and the Moon, and — if you both want it — the two charts together rather than only the one person who came.

Full chart reading

“We need a date for something.”

Usually tried already: Asking three people and getting three answers.
What the chart is read for: The actual panchang for your place: tithi, nakshatra, the yogas that rule a date out, and the clear hours within the day. The least emotional question on this list and one of the most frequent.

Find a muhurat

“There is a dispute over property.”

Usually tried already: Lawyers, relatives, years.
What the chart is read for: The 4th and 8th houses, Mars and Saturn — and the timing, because the difference between pressing a matter this quarter and next is usually the whole question.

Full chart reading

“I want to go abroad and it keeps falling through.”

Usually tried already: Agents, applications, a visa refusal.
What the chart is read for: The 9th and 12th houses and Rahu, read against the running period — which windows support leaving, and which ones have been quietly working against the attempts so far.

Full chart reading

“My health is never quite right.”

Usually tried already: Tests that came back normal.
What the chart is read for: The 6th house and the lord of your ascendant, read for constitutional tendencies and for the periods that ask more of your body. Please read the next line as the main answer rather than a disclaimer: see a doctor. A chart is not a diagnosis, nothing here treats an illness, and we will not tell you otherwise.

If yours is not on this list

It usually still has a shape, a run and an end — and those sit in a chart as dates. Start with the chart itself, which is free and takes a minute, or bring the question to an Acharya by name.
